Welcoming a new baby into the world is fraught with complicated and emotional decisions. Where will I give birth? Should I have an epidural? Who will be my support people? How will I cope with contractions? What does it mean to give birth “naturally?”At Zenana Spa and Wellness Center, we value the wide variety of options that exist for birthing families. We have created a non-judgmental, balanced approach to childbirth preparation that will arm you with the tools you need to have a satisfying birth experience whether you are choosing home or hospital, natural or medicated. We will cover all the basics of labor and birth, newborn care and breastfeeding essentials. You will learn the risks and benefits of many common interventions and ways to manage the pain of labor ranging from traditional medical methods to natural techniques. We will explore your hopes and intentions and have some fun along the way. Our goal is to provide all birthing families with the information and preparation needed for a joyous and empowering experience.

Body Back

Pregnancy and birth can significantly change a woman’s body. Body Back workouts combine the strength of resistance training with cardio and core work, helping you regain that shape you used to have (or always wanted!). An amazing total body workout that sculpts muscle while increasing your cardiovascular endurance. This no-impact workout is created and safe for prenatal and postpartum women (once cleared by your health care provider), but all are welcome. Come and redefine yourself! Babies not yet crawling are welcome to come with Mama!

Come weigh your baby, connect with other nursing mothers, ask questions, and get evidence based information about common breastfeeding issues from a lactation educator at our weekly breastfeeding support group! This is a free event.

IAIM Infant Massage

Infant Massage is an art and gift that parents can add to the care and well being of their babies. When we add this fundamental piece into our parenting traditions we connect and bring ourselves into the present moment with our babies. During the massage and throughout our day, we open the door to a level of understanding; a sacred space shared by parent and child that is fertile ground for optimum well-being. This is a series derived from the International Association of Infant Massage. Ideal for babies up to five months of age.

Mama & Me Yoga

Mama and Me Yoga
Enjoy a yoga class specifically designed to heal and strengthen your postpartum body – – and you can bring baby along, too! This 60-minute class will focus on re-connecting with core muscles, addressing common aches and discomforts, gaining vitality and stamina, nourishing and re-vitalizing body and mind with restorative postures and guided relaxation. This class is ideal for new moms and babies 6 weeks to 18 months. Nursing in class is always welcome.

Mama Fusion will give you everything that you need in a one hour class! This energizing class fuses strength training, yoga, and Pilates, with a dash of cardio! Prenatal Yoga

Celebrate your pregnancy and prepare your body for labor, birth, and motherhood! This gentle yoga class is tailored to your specific needs during this amazing time of transformation and expansion. Poses help alleviate the common discomforts of pregnancy, and holistic childbirth information is woven in throughout the class. Nourish your body, connect with your baby and create community with other expectant mamas.

Tiny Tots Adventure Yoga

In this class, your toddler will have an imaginative adventure in a different fun location each week! Classes consist of engaging, interactive activities designed just for the pre-K/Kindergarten crowd by a former elementary-school-teacher-turned-yoga-teacher. We pretend to be animals, sing songs and learn about how mindful
breathing can help us calm down. Children will get a kick out of this class and parents will appreciate the emotional regulation tricks included each week. Stick around, parents – – you will love watching your little one do yoga. Or, if you are feeling especially young at heart, join our yoga circle and play along! Older siblings are welcome and encouraged to come, too. This is a 5-week series on Tuesdays from 4:30-5:30pm. It is $75 for the series.
