Intro to Reiki: A gift for yourself and your family Workshop Presentation: Saturday, March 22nd $17 Adult; $7 Children. Booklet with energy games and exercises will be provided. This class is designed to provide you with information about the unique form of gentle hands-on energy healing called Reiki and the magical story of how it came to America. You will discover the benefits Reiki can offer as we present to you how to guide this life force energy to enhance all areas of your life including the food you eat, the health of your pets, and the overall wellbeing of your physical and emotional body. It compliments traditional and alternative medicine and is often used in hospital settings to help prepare patients for surgery, giving birth, speeding up the recovery process, and decreasing the side-effects of medicine. We will experiment with our own energy fields and participate in fun, interactive activities to develop a sense of just how powerful that energy is that exists in and around us. Reiki can be incorporated into every aspect of your life, bringing to you and your family a feeling of peace, balance, love, and joy. It is simple to learn so that even children find it easy and fun to use as a healing tool for when they, a friend, or a family member, needs comforting. Reiki energy offers adults and children a sense of calmness and support when it’s needed most. You can provide your family with an empowering gift that they can share with others that lasts a lifetime. Join us in this journey of discovering our energy fields and how to use that energy for promoting our very own healing process. Bring a family member or friend as we explore Reiki and how it can change your life for the better. Darlene Sochin has a Master’s Degree in Family Support and Parenting Education, has been a teacher for over 20 years, and is a certified Reiki Master. She found Reiki after being diagnosed with a form of cancer two years ago and experienced first hand the power of Reiki in preparing her for two surgeries, recovery, and a year of treatments. She was able to work full time and amazed and baffled her doctors whenever her blood results were calculated. She believes sincerely that Reiki assisted her physical and emotional body to fully recover and heal more quickly than anyone had ever expected. She now lives a healthy, well-balanced life guided daily by the healing and loving power of Reiki. What is Your Wellness Vision? presented by Stephanie Antoinette Horace, BS/CHES What would you like your wellness to look like in three months, one year, two years, five years…? Wellness is the mastery of one's wellbeing – physical, mental, emotional and spiritual – through regular practice of healthful behaviors. Mastery of health and wellness doesn't happen naturally; you need to plan and take action to improve or maintain your health. In today's world, bodies and minds are subjected to an unrelenting barrage of stressors and pollution (not to mention distractions!), making action to improve and maintain wellness even more important. It is valuable to develop a personal vision, for you as well as your family. A vision includes general statements that address and consider longer term behavioral goals, outcomes and motivators. Whether it be to establish healthy eating habits so you can set a good example for your children, to establish regular exercise in your early months as a new mother or to simply take charge of your health and feel greater wellbeing and contentment… let's create your wellness vision together! Stephanie Antoinette Horace is a Certified Health Education Specialist and Wellness Coach dedicated to providing education, support and resources to women and families throughout their transition into and throughout parenthood. In addition to her practice as a Wellness Coach, Stephanie provides childbirth/parenting education and birth/postpartum doula support. Pre-registration is recommended; contact Stephanie to preregister and/or for more information at 971.533.7254 or email her.
