Threading is a delicate hair removal procedure that is more effective and less painful than tweezing. This ancient technique uses cotton thread that is gently twisted and rolled along the surface of the skin whereby the thread catches fine facial hair and removes it by the root. You might choose this alternative to waxing or tweezing if you have delicate or sensitive skin, even if you are using Accutane, RetinA or similar products. |

Cost: $49 per person, $79 per couple for both days combined - SLIDING SCALE AVAILABLE - for sliding scale, contact Lyla@zenana-spa.com. We just did that workshop last weekend and while we came away feeling a little concerned about our current parenting, we also got motivated, energized, supported and became far more positive in our approach with our 3 year old. We immediately saw some results. - L. “I really loved the fact that both Lyla and Emily are in the trenches so to speak and it felt very community oriented.” – A. “Lyla and Emily have so much experience and it shows.” – N. Intro to Reiki: A gift for yourself and your family Workshop Presentation: Saturday, May 17th $17 Adult; $7 Children. Booklet with energy games and exercises will be provided. This class is designed to provide you with information about the unique form of gentle hands-on energy healing called Reiki and the magical story of how it came to America. You will discover the benefits Reiki can offer as we present to you how to guide this life force energy to enhance all areas of your life including the food you eat, the health of your pets, and the overall wellbeing of your physical and emotional body. It compliments traditional and alternative medicine and is often used in hospital settings to help prepare patients for surgery, giving birth, speeding up the recovery process, and decreasing the side-effects of medicine. We will experiment with our own energy fields and participate in fun, interactive activities to develop a sense of just how powerful that energy is that exists in and around us. Reiki can be incorporated into every aspect of your life, bringing to you and your family a feeling of peace, balance, love, and joy. It is simple to learn so that even children find it easy and fun to use as a healing tool for when they, a friend, or a family member, needs comforting. Reiki energy offers adults and children a sense of calmness and support when it’s needed most. You can provide your family with an empowering gift that they can share with others that lasts a lifetime. Join us in this journey of discovering our energy fields and how to use that energy for promoting our very own healing process. Bring a family member or friend as we explore Reiki and how it can change your life for the better. Darlene Sochin has a Master’s Degree in Family Support and Parenting Education, has been a teacher for over 20 years, and is a certified Reiki Master. She found Reiki after being diagnosed with a form of cancer two years ago and experienced first hand the power of Reiki in preparing her for two surgeries, recovery, and a year of treatments. She was able to work full time and amazed and baffled her doctors whenever her blood results were calculated. She believes sincerely that Reiki assisted her physical and emotional body to fully recover and heal more quickly than anyone had ever expected. She now lives a healthy, well-balanced life guided daily by the healing and loving power of Reiki. The Language of Parenting - Words Weave Magic (Class Series) Tuesday afternoons,

To register: Call (503) 238-mama (6262) Are you looking for something new and fun and loving to share with yourself and your baby? I invite you to learn the ancient arts of infant massage and yoga through respectful touch and movement interactions with your baby. Nurturing touch in the early months is vital to health and wellbeing and is an important component in brain development. You will learn methods for connecting with your baby through touch with strokes and movements for legs/feet, tummy/chest, arms/hands, back and face while respecting baby pacing and cues. You will also learn to weave baby yoga “poses” and activities into the massage interaction, which support your baby’s natural development. The yoga poses and movements are based on Itsy Bitsy Yoga®, which include unique “sing and do” methods to help baby (and parent) calm and relax. This class setting provides a supportive environment for moms/dads/caregivers to connect with peers and allows them to slow down and hang out with baby. You will learn to keenly observe and be present with your precious child to enhance and deepen your relationship through touch and gentle movements. This relationship deepening will last a lifetime.
