Did you know that Dr. Michelle Gerbi is now doing house calls?

Treating mothers and babies is a wonderful thing. Dr. Gerbi has started doing house calls to help these patients when they need her the most. After birthing, there is so much going on in a family. Moms and dads are getting to know their baby. There are many long days, and even longer nights. Often mothers wish they could come in for an adjustment after birthing, but it is just too much effort to leave the house in the first few weeks. Often, the newborn could use an adjustment or craniosacral therapy in the days following birth, but again, it is just too much to get everyone in the car and out of the house, much less to an appointment on time.

Let Dr. Gerbi come to you. In the days and weeks following birth, moms' bodies are coping with a lot. Depending on how long they labored, or in what position; mothers can end up with everything from sore hips and numbness across the low back, to painful ankles and wrists. The pelvis of a woman who has just birthed can always benefit from an adjustment. After all, what more physical thing will your body ever do? Mothers who are having tailbone pain postpartum often report that they can’t sit comfortably to nurse. This is absolutely something that chiropractic care is very successful at treating. Hours of nursing can also lead to upper back, neck, and shoulder discomfort for new moms. A mother shouldn’t have to stay at home and tough it out in the weeks that follow birth. A house call can let mom get the care she needs in her own environment. When her body is more comfortable, she will have an easier time recovering from childbirth and smoother transition into motherhood.

Moms aren’t the only ones who can benefit from a house call. Dr. Gerbi is also available for infant care as well. Every newborn should be checked for cranial restrictions following birthing. Releasing these restrictions allows the nervous system to function optimally. Newborns and babies receiving craniosacral and gentle chiropractic care often experience improvement from fussiness, colic, reflux, digestive function, and breastfeeding problems. House calls are just like an office visit, except that Dr. Gerbi will come to you. She will have her adjusting table and body cushion for mom. Patients will be given a superbill that they can submit to their insurance company for reimbursement.
