Elizabeth Wallace, N.D., LAc
Elizabeth Wallace grew up outside of Chicago, the youngest child of seven. She was exposed to the wilderness of America through family camping trips, and these adventures sparked an astonishment with the wonders of the natural world.
As a teen, she studied modern dance and in college was a member of Rosehips Dance Company. She was involved with Dancability workshops, applying principles of contact improvisational dance to develop movement techniques for the physically challenged. Examining movement in the light of science (Dr. Wallace is also a certified Pilates instructor), led her to study biology, and biology led her back to learning the science of the natural world. “I was drawn to study Naturopathic and Chinese medicine because both systems embody a spiritual science of medicine; the healing mysteries of the natural world exist, but with the benefit of knowledge of the western world”, says Dr. Wallace.
Dr. Wallace studied in China and graduated in 2003 from Portlandıs National College of Naturopathic Medicine with an N.D. and an M.S.O.M., LAc. Dr. Wallace has an in-depth understanding in the disciplines of Biotherapeutic Drainage, homeopathy, Chinese and western herbal formulas, clinical nutrition, acupuncture and body work [massage, Bowen Technique, Medical Qi Gong and Cranial Sacral Therapy].
As the mother of two daughters, Dr. Wallace has been drawn to specialize in fertility, pregnancy, postpartum wellness and pediatrics. She has enhanced this focus with intensive training in Holistic Pelvic CareSM, a form of internal bodywork that not only addresses the physical symptoms experienced by postpartum women, it benefits any woman looking to reconnect with her root – the source of her creative feminine spirit.
Using Naturopathic and Chinese medicine to treat women and children, Dr. Wallace believes that even the most complex cases can be simplified and that re-creating health in our lives stems from creating a clear picture of oneself and one’s environment. She helps educate those with whom she works, so that they are equipped to make the best choices for creating balance and health in their lives and in the lives of those around them.
